Duopody Reflexology is a unique technique in which both feet are treated symmetrically and methodically, exactly reflecting each organ and system in your body (a technique devised by Sue Alma Evans, the Author of Duopody and Director of Inspira Academy of Reflexology and Reiki).

The first Duopody session lasts for 1½ hours, during which an in-depth, confidential health consultation is undertaken. At this initial appointment, a visual and tactile baseline analysis of your feet will be performed and a treatment provided. These results will be recorded and discussed with you.

From the questionnaire and the visual and tactile findings, an individualised treatment plan is developed with the purpose of re-balancing the compromised areas detected. This ensures that your individual plan is unique to you – not a “one treatment fits all”.

Future treatments may vary in duration, depending on your needs and spaced over days or weeks, again depending on your own requirements. With this methodical, clinical and personalised approach, specific conditions or injuries can be targeted.

In addition to the Duopody treatment, a variety of appropriate techniques will also be performed. Additional techniques will include working at great depth of touch(Advanced Reflexology Techniques), if necessary. For example, you may have sustained an injury and want to get back to training. Whilst Reflexology may not be the first therapy you might think of where sports injuries are concerned, it may be extremely beneficial. Theories suggest that Reflexology encourages the nerve and blood flow to the damaged region, facilitating the healing process, relieving tension in the muscles that have gone into spasm, and relaxing tight tendons and ligaments. By working on the directly reflected area to the injury, together with the area for the adrenal glands, it may
help to intensify naturally occurring glucocorticosteroids which have a powerful antiinflammatory effect. There is another technique which can be employed, namely CALM (Caring Attention Leading to Mollifi cation) which seeks to counteract the pressures of our modern times i.e. stress!
